For others that do not have a radio....it's ok to leave the harbor with a group. On the radio, " 7 kayaks leaving Depoe Bay" or something like that.

However.......if it's real foggy and you get  lost or confused about your location ---Having a radio with GPS could save you a lot of embarrassment or your life.

Main Point ---- you do not have to have a radio for ORC.
Life is short---live it tall.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

No one has posted how many spots are still open recently.

I'd suggest sign up as soon as you can.

If you don't sign up in time- you can still come and fish-- you just can't win any prizes.

But you will still "win" just by being there.

That would be a great if I don't purchase one before. I registered yesterday.

So is the Barbie Pole competition on this year?

Being the "Hobie Qualifier"...and a bunch of guys (I'm assuming here) wanting to be really serious about the competition, I'm just curious if "Barbies" are gonna fish this year...

I wouldn't mind seeing Amsterdam again, but I'm also in for a little Barbie fishing.

Anybody?
I know what I am...My wife tells me all the time!!

Can I load the ironman pole with heavier line?

Second place last year, IIRC, was caught on a Barbie pole.  ndogg was slaying them on the Barbie pole as I recall.

I'd love to go to Amsterdam fishing a Barbie pole. Nate might be able to actually pull that off.   ;D

There needs to be a larger than normal Barbie pole side bet this year. $50 should do it. Let's send the winner to Amsterdam in style.

You need a plethora of GoPro's on your kayak capturing your day with the "Princess Rod" as your only rig used.
Could make a great commercial or something out of it.

I am so sad that I will not be there this year. My Spiderman rod was going to kick#%$.
