Well, I'm packed, and sitting here trying to figure out what I forgot.

Gave Jeff all my clothes and bulky stuff like my downrigger. It made the cut. Still going to be a LOT of stuff.

Ok. At the airport awaiting the arrival of the triumvirate.... The adventure is about to begin. Gale force winds stand between us and Kodiak... Advanced recon has hit the island.

Day zero in the books!  Stop at the Russian River. Managed a few nice rainbows and a few tomato sockeyes!  Saw a juvenile brown bear as well. Not bad for a few hours.

All you guys are gonna have so much fun out there. Never made it to Kodiak in my years in Alaska . Bucket list..........
Get plenty of rest on the ferry over there. You might not get much rest the next few days.
 And have a blast.......

Thanks for posting as you go.  This is really great for those of us stuck in the lower 48.  I may never get up there, but it's sure fun to live vicariously through your adventure.  Catch some more fish for us!

I hope there will be some really good reports once we are done. Internet is brutally slow and I'm sure a full report is coming.  But as a teaser...

Two days down. Weather coming in.  So far the lead halibut is 51 pounds...I think. We didn't weight the best silver but I'll guess 13 to 15 pounds. Weather is supposed to be bad Wed and thur. We have back up though!

Good times with great folks. Having fun though iI'm worn out and it's only day two of six on Kodiak!

"Having fun though I'm worn out and it's only day two of six on Kodiak"

A lot of us are anxiously awaiting the reports that will be coming. Some of our best story tellers and fishermen will (hopefully) start their tales soon.

Have a blast guys and Rudy ---get over it. All will be fine.

Another great day and I went fishless! Though I did witness the new weekly leader at 60+ pounds. Can't give away all the good stuff for those working hard on a report.

I had my chances. I HATE circle hooks. Missed at least 5 halibut, several chewed the bAit for minutes and peeled off yards of line before I engaged the reel. Oh well.
