Got the long range forecast for the ORC and it's looking decent so far. It is long range so it can change a lot. In case of bad conditions we do have a back up location and format. I will post that next week if the conditions look changeable.

Z

Is this proposed back up location and format going to be in the same area, so we can still take advantage of our paid for camp sites?   And if it is going to be a freshwater event, it might be nice to give folks a longer heads up to prepare tackle and such for it.   I'm just saying..... :)

Tides look pretty good for launching too...morning high around 7:30am, low around 12:30pm

Hold on. I will post next week if the conditions look changeable. It's all gonna work out.

Every time i think of bad weather, i think Yaquina Bay/Newport would be a good secondary location. just 10 miles away or so, and fairly protected

Zee,

As I mentioned I would do awhile back in the other ORC thread, I spoke with the Coast Guard last week and advised them that this was happening.  I said there would be about 30 people involved and that you guys may be doing radio checks prior to heading out.  The guy I spoke to said he would give the CG in Depoe Bay a heads up.  I emailed him a link to the original thread for background information.

I should have just put this here I guess ::)

I don't think there is any boundaries, you just gotta have time to catch the fish and get back to check in in time.. Isn't the official launch from the harbor?
See ya on the water..

*  they mention not to fish between the mouth and the red bouy as it is highly traveled by PBs (very good advice), and  entering and exiting with a required horn blast (I have not done this with the yak in the past but will during the event)

also good reading

I might be able to get a couple days off and make it to the tournament. Can I sign up when I get there or do you need advance registration?

People w/ questions: Please read the first post in this thread. Most questions are answered there.

Advance reg. only. We will not be doing any on-site registration. You'll need to sign a waiver and send via mail so if you plan to attend please do that as soon as possible.
Thanks.

Thanks. I didn't see anything on the first post about the registration requirements. Maybe I missed it.
