I'm working on getting a Chinook to shuttle us out..  I figure it will be about $300  per person for fuel who's down?

Would the riggers toss us out strapped to our yaks?  Get a running start like a bobsled?  Fastrope?

No we will get on the ramp 5 kayaks wide and the next-up's will give us a little nudge at touch down.

I know this sounds rediculous...but so is the fact that some of the competitors are working on a short list of an alternate locations/venues they wont share with us untill later in the week. :police:

I'm confident the forecast will turn in our favor or we'll find a way to make this work out, but...

IF the venue changes at least give those of us driving in from WA enough of a heads up to pack accordingly.  I'd be pissed if I drove 5 and a half hours only to discover I needed to bring freshwater stuff.

BTW... the forecast changed to NW wind 15-20kts, 4ft wind waves, and 11ft swell.  If it still holds true on Thursday evening I'll start getting concerned.

We're really holding out for Depoe Bay as that spot is the best. We'd like to wait to make a call as forecasts are forecasts and not actual conditions. Please hold tight until we can make a call.

The alternate spot will have the same gear so no changes will be needed.
Thanks,

I'm more interested in knowing if I am going to have to be driving an hour from my camp site or not?

Hey guys. Unfortunately it looks like the swell predictions aren't changing and the brunt of the swell will be hitting exactly on Saturday. The backup venue may be our only alternative site. I am working on details and will update tonight.
Thanks.

Richard, the issue is more the swell, which is predicted to be 10 feet from the west ... straight up the narrow harbor channel ... or pounding on the beach.
