This seems to be shaping up pretty good.  Unfortunately I must ask to be moved to the Possibles list until I know if Cindy can cart me down there since I won't be able to drive for several months.

Think I will make it but just to observe and learn since I will not have a kayak. I might be able to haul someone close to CB if they need a ride. Just a thought.  :-\

Roy, you are the man!

This is turning out to be quite the gathering.  I'll haul down some of my wicked hot tropical oak firewood and wash machine drum fire pit for an evening party at your place.  Cool with that?

Oooh!  It would be awesome if you could get the sponsers to come over and hang with the gang and deliver thier goods personally. Really make them feel welcome and like they are one of us, and lock in a solid relationship with NWKA for future fishing tourney's.

I'm working on getting a friends Hobie Outback(actually my old yak) for you to use Glenn. At least pedal around the inside  and if you are comfortable, go out past the entrance rock and catch some fish, i've caught plenty of decent sized fish in close, 15-20 feet of water. I'll hang with ya if you decide to venture out past the entrance. Bring some fishing gear with ya. Does anyone coming down have a extra pair of splash pants they could bring? I have a splash top for ya to wear.

We can have an after party at my house or at the picnic area at Sunset, we'll figure it out as it gets a little closer.

I'll ask the sponsors if they want to come down

I might actually be able to make this one - I was supposed to be hanging out with my sister that weekend, but it turns out she is going on an expenses paid trip to Germany.  I normally spend my 4th weekend in Ashland, so this wouldn't be too much of a sidetrip.

I might be able to attend this after all.
What are the family camping options in the area?

Yea, hope you can make it!

There's Sunset Bay campground, Bastendorff campground that are close, not sure how hard it will be to get a reservation.

Or, for the hefty sum of zero dollars a night, you can pitch tents at Marcum Campground(my house). That goes for any NWKA/NCKA'r coming to the tourny. Also have my small trailler someone can crash out in, I've got plenty of room.

Be ready - we had 85 paid participants and 90 kayaks OTW at Shelter Cove a few weeks ago.   :)

I found out today that my nephew gets back from overseas and my sister is having a party for him at their place up at Ruth Lake on 7/3, so I'm definitely out.  Can't wait to read the reports.

Well, my "friend" who i gave the screamenest deal when i sold him the Yak won't let me use it for the tournament, There's another one for the don't go out of my way to help list.

You can use mine to pedal around and no, you don't need to pony up any money.

Well I can't quite move to the for sure list yet but it is looking good  ;D. Plus if I make it a friend of mine will be coming out as well on my other kayak so you can add "Travis" to the maybe list.
Enjoy the ride!

No. It has actually been almost a year now  :'( . But I got out on the South Fork of the Coquille river last week. Took a friend of mine out on the yaks. We did not fish but it was a lot of fun. My buddy actually got flipped in a rapid then told me his boots must have been really heavy because his life vest was just barely keeping him out of the water. About two hours later we were getting ready to put in again and he happened to look at the in side of his life vest.........it was only rated for up to 90 lbs.........he is from Powers  :banjo:    nuf said. I could not stop laughing for about five minutes (though it could have turned out really bad and not been so funny).

Any ways I am taking him out to fish the light house area (with an appropriate sized life vest) on Wednesday if the ocean does not get to bad. Its not looking great now, but the light house area is so protected that it should be ok. We are going to bring the crab cage just to see what turns up in that area. But this time we are crossing the sand bar. We don't need a repeat of last years (almost a year exactly) mess while trying to shoot the gap with Cris.
Enjoy the ride!
