I'll go with whatever you guys want to do, but I kind of like a potluck/fishfry for Saturday night.

-Allen

Potluck/Fishfry sounds great to me!  Sounds like there are plenty of folks willing to pitch in to make it happen including myself.   ;D

If we plan on going with it Saturday, as I believe we should. We should put some feelers out there for who is bringing what for the potluck side of it. We dont want to end up with 20 salads and no beer.  Of course I dont drink beer, but you know what I mean.

Here is a list of potential items to sign up for:
Chips
Drinks w/soda
Salads
Veggie tray
Desserts
BBQ items (Burgers, Dogs, Bobs, Fruit/Veggies)
Etc....

Fish fry, Fish fry, Fish fry!!!
PROGRESS IS JUST BEING THERE!

Here's another take on what to do with fish, hot oil and some batter.
And not so much a random potluck with everyone trying to cook, bake or BBQ something after being on the water.

But rather a......

Huge build your own fish taco bar extravaganza!

We already have the oil, batter, fry cook, fish monger established.
So, to add to this, we could have volunteers sign up to bring items to go with the fried fish to make fish tacos.

Things like:

-Corn tortilla's
-Sour cream
-Taco sauce(s)  various heat indexs.
-Chipotle sauce
-Lime juice
-Cilantro
-Shredded cabbage
-Shredded lettuce
-Diced tomatoes
-Dice or sliced avocado
-Diced sweet onions
-Diced red onions
-Black beans
-Jalapenos
-Shredded cheeses
-Salt & Pepper
-Mango salsa
-Etc...

99% of these items can be prepared at home, and kept ready in a cooler at camp.
The rest can be just sitting in a box at room temperature.
No need for everyone cook something after being out on the water (unless they really want to).

Just carry it over to the party, and lay it out in a reasonable flow, so folks can walk down either side of a table to assemble their
personally created fish tacos.

Grab a beer and sit down and munch away!

That is a great idea Insayn.  Do we have a head count as to competitors plus guests?  That way a person would know how much to bring of each thing.

Hopefully when folks pay up that they make a note or send PolePole their expecting  head count.

If anyone reads this, and has paid, plz update PolePole soon via PM.

I will make a big batch of my secret kick ass Chipotle Baja fish taco dressing and grab a big bag of taco tortillas, a head of cabbage or two and some limes.

Now we're talking!

If we can dial in pizza and beer for Friday night, and then a group Taco Bar Grande for Saturday night,
I'll get busy and build a Discada this week or next week to sizzle the tortillas on.

Bluewrx02 is willing to bring his burner, LP and tongs to work that department for us.

Can we make this a go?

For those that have never had a fresh fish taco, you are missing out!
There is a million ways to put these together, so the more offerings available,
the better they are.

Teaser pics!   ;D

Can we make this a go?

Only if you raffle off that discada afterwards.  I want one!

Serious ... let's do it.  Still trying to figure out if there is enough funds to provide pizza and beer as we're diverting some to some "special prizes".  Well, I know there is enough to cover beer.  Can someone volunteer to pick up a keg of beer?  Or a couple of mini-kegs?

I'll bring some beef and seasoning to make an alternative/additional meat for the tacos.  I love the idea and think it is a neat take on the Sat. feast, I'm just not that big a fan of fish tacos...

I'm going to be solo again this year, but when calculating headcount I would factor in two or three extra heads for the CB proprietors.

Found my rivet tool kit and plan to bring it if anyone wants to do some work on their yak. I do have some 5/32" rivets, not the good kind that bends out into 3 prongs, so, bring your own if ya have a need, also I have aluminum backing rivets.
