Hello Northern Cousins!

I have just put up the announcement and registration info for GS7.  This year I'm only registering NCKA members, so join NCKA if you haven't already.  I'm also requiring a basic sponsorship structure - if you've not attended a past GS event you need to have an NCKA member who has attended a past GS event vouch for your character and agree to be involved in the event of any undesirable situations arising - this applies to all people.

I consider NWKA to be very nearly the same as NCKA, and I'm not advertising my event anywhere but this thread, a similar one at CCKF and the master thread at NCKA - that's where you'll need to get your registration and rules...

Hope to see you there.   :)

3 of us will be driving down from WA again and picking up a couple more in OR on the way. I believe Yaksurf and PNW are in again as well. We had such a great time last May that I think this is goin to be annual trek.

I had a blast last year so I'm planning on going.  I have to defend my fourth place tittle.  As Islandson said PNW is planning on going and possibly Goldendog.  If any of you guy's have thought about hitting a Nor Cal event this one rocks.  There is also ab diving in this area.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend GS7.  I have a huge road trip from mid June - mid August that I will be focusing my attention on prepping for.  Hopefully I can make GS8 if you have one in 2014.  8)

Had an absolute blast at GS6 and can't wait to do it again.   :headbang:

I'll be down for sure.  Have room for one more if they want to trip with me.  Will have the trailer so plenty of room.

We're thinking about renting a house this time. I was able to negotiate one for $1000 tax and cleaning fees included. It's 1750 sq ft/3 BD rm. The only thing is we need to pay the rental upfront. These places are usually $1400 to $1600+. Here is a picture from the beach looking up at the house and a shot overlooking the water from the patio.

We're driving down on Tuesday and leaving Sunday.

It supposedly sleeps 7 and right now there are 5 of us but we would like to get 2 or 3 more guys. If anyone is interested let me know.

Renting a house really works out well for the GS event.  Daviator and I have rented the same house we had last year and it's about 1/2 the price of a motel room and you get a kitchen too.  We plan to arrive Thursday and fish a couple of days prior to the tournament.  If any of you guys need sponsorship, I'm sure Team Loose Screws can handle it for you.  Is there a date for ORC yet?  At least 3 or 4 of us plan to attend again.  I look forward to fishing and chillin' with you guys again at Shelter Cove.

Not enough vacation time or I'd be all for it.  By GS10 I'll have my 3rd week of annual vacation time.  Maybe then.

Man it sounds like so much fun. I'd love to go if I can make it work budget wise. With my wife staying home with the baby there hasn't been as much disposable income as there used to be. Can anyone who's gone in the past do a ballpark estimate for lodging, fuel, and misc expenses?

There was 3 of us that carpooled with a trailer and we camped 4 nights. About $300 each. Not including food/drinks that we bought and brought.

We're planning an extra night this time around and planning to rent a house. If we get 8 guys it'll be $25 a night for 5 nights. Which is only $10 more per night vs camping.

That's so worth it. When can I give you an answer by? Gotta work out some minor details but I'm seriously considering going if you have an open seat.

Sorry that I'm a downer compared to some other tournament organizers regarding sponsoring beer, but I sure do appreciate you bringing it and stoking out the club.  I never did try the Ninkasi last year, so I hope to try a pint this year.   :)
See you at Gimme Shelter
